I wanted to try this place when I heard about their Downtown location. But I found out that they moved to Willow Grove. Drove up and was greeted by some familiar faces who have haven't seen since middle school! Vic is a family-owned business, run by some friends that I grew up with in elementary school. So it was a pleasant surprise to be able to play catch up. The place was nice and clean with a nice bar in the front where the sushi chefs were working. It was 3-4pm, so we were the only customers. So service was prompt and delightful. We order the tuna dumplings. Which was the best decision ever! The tuna was fresh and melted in my mouth and the avocado filling was so creamy. We ordered a bunch of rolls, but my favorites included Tiger and Marla.

New sushi places tend to make me a skeptical diner, however, I was pleasantly surprised by Vic's. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing, with classical music playing at an appropriate level. The restaurant was very clean and the temperature was very pleasant. Metal chopsticks were a nice touch. I ordered the mango and avocado, spicy tuna, and Unagi(eel) rolls off of the lunch special. The mango and avocado was nothing special, but I'm not a huge avocado fan.(Clearly, this is my fault for ordering it and nothing against Vic's. I like to try new things.) The spicy tuna is slightly better than most and the Unagi was on par with other places. I was very impressed with the presentation of the rolls, and I wish I had taken a picture but it looked too good to wait. Vic's sushi is not the best I have ever had but it was a very pleasant experience and I will go back. It's going to be very difficult to find better sushi in this area.

I went here for lunch and really enjoyed it. I have lived in this area for most of my life and I have never entered the little shopping strip it is in even once, but I read the reviews for this place so we decided to try it out. It was definitely worth it. The restaurant is small but looks very nice inside, and we were pretty impressed by the nice glasses and metal chopsticks (not very important, but a nice touch). As far as the food, we got a pretty good variety of different types of rolls, sushi, and sashimi. Everything was very good, and rather inexpensive (from the lunch special menu). Someone with me said that they wished there were more interesting options for rolls, but that didn't take away from anything. I can't speak for any of their other food, but everything that we got was delicious. While I have had better sushi in my life, we all agreed that this is possibly the best in the area.

If your just coming in for sushi you will probably find this to be a 4 star. If you are coming in with a group and getting hot meals with sushi then you are looking more at 3 stars (which is always been my experience here). When in a group (we had 5 people) they will bring some of the food out and wait a period of time before other plates come out, so the first plates get cold. When in a group it would be better if they could time this to all come out at the same time, especially hot ones. The server that is usually there is kinda slow and gives attitude when you need to split the check. So if you are trying to go in and get anything hot during lunch plan for a long lunch. The price of the sushi is great and all the food I have had like the green curry is delicious! The curry dishes are all done mild so that everyone can enjoy them and you can ask for more pepper on this side if you like it super hot like me. Overall it's an ok place, the food is delicious but the service part is the only thing that I would hope they improve on.

Great little place. The sushi is fresh, the staff is extremely friendly, the space is quaint. The sushi chef is the same from the spring house location before. I guess he follows the new restaurants? There is now 3 Vic's restaurants that I know of. The 3 rolls special is a great deal at $10.95 from a select list. And each of these rolls come with 8 pieces. My go-to are the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and Alaskan. I like the fact that the spicy rolls are NOT grounded tuna/salmon - they are chopped, but not too fine - just perfect. The 3 roll special is also valid for takeout! I like thai food, and maybe my standards are higher because I've actually been to Thailand, but I don't like the Thai food here. I got the shrimp pad thai, and while the shrimp was perfectly cooked, the flavor was not very Thai. It had an overpowering onion taste, and I happen to hate raw onions, which this dish was just a couple levels shy of tasting as such. The pad Thai had just waaay too many onions in it. The staff is extremely nice. Feels like a family business, as everyone is equally as nice and courteous. Got the same waitress the past couple of visits and she was attentive and sweet every time. I do come here on the regular, mostly for takeout, but dining there is always a nice experience. Try the Thai if you like - the cooks definitely know how to cook it properly. The flavor just wasn't for me.

The sushi at Vick is excellent. However, the service...at least the take out service was not good. We had to call several times to get are order and we had to wait forever to get our good after we got there to pick up the food. Bottom line, great sushi sub par service.

You cannot beat the $10.95 3-roll special. I mean, who does that? I've heard raves about the Sansom location (which I realize is owned separately), so when I saw the same name in Willow Grove and had a hankerin' for sushi (which I often do), I stopped right on in. The dining room isn't very big and the place was bustling on a Saturday night. Servers were whipping by, but not too quickly as I was greeted promptly and warmly. They offered me a seat at the sushi bar while I perused the menu. I mean, usually that's where everyone's grubbing so it was a special treat to observe the chefs in full flex mode. I got the spicy salmon, spicy tuna and yellowtail rolls. I'mma tell you again: $10.95 for all three. 'Twas marvelously fresh and expertly prepared. I was in and out within 15 minutes, but you can obviously call ahead. Delish. I'm purposefully carving out sushi spots to hit up in the Greater Philly area (outside of Center City) and this one is always a must when I'm nearby (and sometimes even when I'm not).

Small casual place. Variety of sushi. Not the best I had but pretty good for the area. I agree with other reviewer that despite many choices predominant majority of special rolls contains shellfish which limits choices for people with shellfish allergies. My son loves their fried rice which is real tasty. I tried tuna pizza and it was great. Service is very friendly.

Easily one of the best Asian cuisine places in the Horsham area. You'd think a Thai Sushi combo is a bad idea but they're really good at both! Their 10.99 for 3 kinds of rolls is amazing. Try the sweet potato roll. In Thai, the Tom Yum soup and Red Curry is my regular go to meal.

  • Luba P.

Very casual sushi and thai place. It seemed a bit hectic on a Saturday night so service was a bit slow, and my husband didn't get his food until 10 minutes after I got mine. His pad seew was OK, but didn't have enough noodles and was mostly vegetables. My potato curry was also average. The sauce was a bit watery and not as thick as I like, also it would've been nicer if the dish came with Jasmine rice instead of regular white rice. It seems like a really nice family owned place, but it may have just been an off night!

Tuna dumplings are life changing. They're so good there's almost no need to order anything else. I love this place for its friendly staff and superb sushi. I've also been to the Vic's in the city and the quality has definitely carried over to the Vic's in the suburbs. The people of Willow Grove are very lucky to have this place nearby!

Small place in small strip mall. 8 tables, seats maybe 30 people. Late lunch but the place is 3/4 full. Place smells great and other diners' food looks appetizing from what I can see. Ordered gyoza. Zippy, spicy dipping sauce. Wow! Good! Served with a fork (remember, Thai joint). Not all uniformly hot but still tasty. Entree. Green chicken curry. Another one of my litmus tests, this for Thai. If they can do that well, I'll generally give other dishes a try. Curry: smells good, prominent lemongrass and Thai basil notes. Carrots, string beans, red and white onion, mushrooms, daikon(?) and red bell pepper in a kind of thin sauce. The veggies were all cut in different sizes and shapes. Nice and crunchy but maybe a little undercooked. The rice was cool. I guess as long as you dunk it in the sauce, it's ok, but just ok. Spice level is nice. Overall impression, Americanized Thai, ok but not great. The place feels a little "fast foody", but what was I expecting? $20 including 20% tip. Hostess and waitress were nice. I might come back if I'm ever in the neighborhood.

I love Vic Sushi! I used to frequent it for takeout back when I lived in the city. They sold it and opened a place in Spring House and later moved it to Willow Grove. I find the location a bit odd, right on a busy corner of 611, but that wouldn't stop me from going there. They also added Thai dishes to the menu, how great is that! I started out with the most amazing lemon grass spicy soup. It had 4 very large shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised. The value was great as it was $4.50. Tuna dumplings are just as good as I always remembered them. If you haven't had it, it's a must!! I had a birthday roll, my mother insisted, and it was good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Other sushi we had was amazing. The fish is so fresh and sliced just right. This place really is a gem and I only wish it was closer to my house.

  • Brian T.

The sushi is great! Also had some of their Tai food also. If you don't like it hot, tell them ahead so they know. I don't think I had any roll I didn't like yet. Family of 5 today and all shared 8 rolls. Three roll special: Spicy salmon Spicy tuna Alaska roll then chef special rolls: Vic sushi roll Birthday roll Holiday roll Marla roll Tiger roll Highly recommend this place! They don't deliver though.

Best thai food in area. I come here often for lunch. Try their pad ke mao . Its my favorite

  • Mark P.

We used to go to Vics in Spring House, before he sold that place and moved. Making the occasional visit is well worth it. The restaurant is much more crowded now of course but quality has not suffered. I had the Pad Thai, which comes with the soup. The soup is very savory and medium hot. The Pad Thai is a standout, and is always excellent. Skip the regular iced tea it was extremely weak, and might as well have been water (which was what I drank).

As the Yelp community said, this place is a hidden gem in the Willow Grove area, with spectacular dumplings and sushi.

Best deal in town! Friendly atmosphere and fantastic menu. My wife and I order here every week; sometimes twice a week.

  • Mike J.

Happened to be a mile from this place when I discovered it on Yelp - lucky find! The place is quaint with a comfortable atmosphere and the lunch menu is both extensive and reasonably priced. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken and agree with other reviews noting the dish being a bit heavy on the onions. All the sushi I saw being served looked well prepared and tasty. Only drawback I noticed was the limited amount of available parking. I'll return to this place if I'm ever back this way.

  • Caryn L.

This is our favourite sushi place. We eat here about once a week and the food is consistently fresh and tasty. It is expensive, but well worth the price.

  • Carly M.

Very cute, small sushi place. Food was very good. I am a big fan of raw tuna and avocado and I loved the tuna dumplings!! The waitress however was very rude. She slammed everything on the table, hit our glasses with the plates as she put them on the table, walked away as soon as we were done talking and has an attitude. When I politely asked what a certain roll had in it, she was rude especially when I asked whether it was vegetarian or not. She seemed like she didn't give a crap about anything, which is probably what she actually felt but dont act that way in front of customers. She was rude and didn't give good service. The food was delicious but if I get that waiter again, I'm walking out. Would have been 5 stars if good service. Whatever you do- don't let the blond haired woman that looks like she got plastic surgery serve you!!

By far the BEST sushi in the suburbs. Thai food is good too for non-sushi eaters. Also BYOB which is a plus.

This place is a great find and we are becoming regulars. This is sushi and Thai and I'm not a fan of places that combine cuisines like that but this place does it right. We order the Pad Thai and it is wonderful. The sushi is good. It is fresh and flavorful. The service is very friendly and personal. The waitress remembers you and your quirks.

I love this place. Their roll special has become a regular staple in my week! Always fresh, always good service. :)

It took a bit of investigation but I finally discovered where the "real" Vic has been hiding. His latest spot is a mere 15 minutes from me, just up Easton Road in the Willow Grove area. No more fighting for a parking space on Sansom Street or shivering in the cold while waiting for a spot at the tiny sushi bar. Vic apparently sold the Center City and Springhouse locations. The menu is virtually the same as the other "Vic" establishments, but this restaurant also features Thai food. I'm familiar with Vic's restaurants because of his sushi, so I didn't opt to try the Thai options. The extended menu, however, means that you could lure non-sushi lovers here as well. I really feel that, unless you go straight to Japan, you can't really find better sushi in the 'burbs. The fish is very fresh! The Tuna Dumplings are a great example of the excellent seafood that they provide - imagine little tuna purses that are so tender they virtually melt in your mouth. The 3 hand rolls for $10.95 really cannot be beat. I enjoy the Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Alaskan, and Sweet Potato rolls. The Black Dragon roll with eel was exceptional - tender, moist, and slightly sweet. The rolls are very generously packed with fish and I like how the fish and spicy sauces are mixed together. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. Vic himself manned the sushi bar while we were there. BYOB and you've got an affordable meal for date night, girls night out, or just because.

I have gotten takeout from Vic Sushi about 3 times and have ate in once. The three rolls for $10.95 is a great deal! You get 24 pieces of sushi! My standbys are the yellowtail scallion and the spicy tuna. Other rolls I have had are the spicy salmon, seaweed salad, fried tofu, boston, and futomaki rolls. I've liked them all except the tofu (too sweet). I also tried the seaweed salad, which is really good. The service was slow when we ate in, but that's my only criticism. I love this place and will keep coming back!

Stopped by twice for sushi. Have stuck to the 3/$11 roll menu while adding some dumplings or a larger roll. No liquor license Quality is very good and pricing is fair. Hopefully they last longer than Jakes did at that spot Its convenient for us, but be warned that stretch of 611 is a PITA during evening rush hour

I've been to the other Vic Sushi location in Spring House and was impressed if not wowed. This location wowed me! The sushi was so fresh and the service was so friendly and welcoming. We ordered three small rolls as part of their three rolls for $10.95 deal. (What a steal!) We had the spicy tuna roll, mango avocado roll, and sweet potato roll. In addition we ordered the Volcano Roll with spicy tuna and avocado topped with spicy sauce and the Marla Roll with yellowtail, avocado, and tempura flakes topped with tuna, spicy sauce, scallions, tempura flakes, and masago. Holy cow. First of all, their spicy tuna is some of the best I've had. I vaguely remember loving it at the Spring House location as well. Instead of whipping it like some places do, it was in large chunks and their spicy sauce actually had a nice kick which I enjoyed. Some spicy sauces are so wussy. The tuna was fresh and delicate. Amazing. My least favorite roll was the sweet potato. It wasn't orange like sweet potato should be, it was kind of yellow. But no matter. Everything else made up for it. The Marla Roll in particular was really great. We will definitely be back. It'll be really nice to have a sort of neighborhood sushi bar close by where you don't have to spend $100 for a decent dinner. Welcome Vic Sushi!

Sad and sad who give 5 star they don't know about sushi taste !!!! Stinky fish smell and soy dish had dry rice on it ! I think I don't like Philly style sushi ! Bye Philadelphia ~~

Read the reviews and so I tried the Tuna Dumplings. They were fantastic! Got the 3 roll special, and it was pretty good. Nothing really special about it- except the price! The place is clean and the service was great. I will definitely come back when I travel here again.

A dine in / take out hybrid place. Had the Thai Basil. Pretty tasty. Veggies were fresh and cooked just right. Chicken was a little rubbery. Prep time was a little slow, but not terribly long. I'll give it four stars - because they didn't charge for refills, which some Asian places do.

What a find! We consider ourselves Thai experts, having samples places from all over Philly metro and other parts of the globe. Our favorite spot is Busaba Thai in London. For local thai we are used to traveling to center city. We've learned that price doesn't dictate quality and experience can widely vary. Vic is now atop our list! It doesn't look like much and is easy to miss on a drive by. I first tried it based on Yelp reviews. Did take out, which was delicious. Went back today for lunch and was even more delighted. Key points: vegetables are super fresh and cooked just right - not soggy - and their bright color reflects the quality. You get the sense that they really did cook your meal fresh to order - not assembled from pre-cooked ingredients as other places may do. The meat is so tender - much more so than other restaurants. You have to try it to see what I mean. Sticky rice is perfectly done. Service is friendly. Decor is casual. Go with friends. Take a bottle of wine. Enjoy. Fresh fresh fresh and very flavorful. New favorite local spot.

Just OK. We frequent the location in Springhouse and find both the food and service there to be far superior to this location.

I waited until I ate here at least twice before writing a review. I'm happy to report that both times, we got great food and great service. The sushi is fresh, delicious, and inexpensive. It's BYOB which is hard to find outside of the city. It's so close to our house so we will definitely be regulars here!

Mr. M and I have been Vic fans for at least five years as a result of Yelp recommendations. Our devotion began with take-away from the Sansom Street location. When a colleague shared that Vic had a Spring House location, we drifted over there, and shared many a happy meal with dear friends. Over-the-moon-thrilled were we to learn that Vic had a location in Willow Grove. We recently learned that Vic sold the other two locations, and WG is now his sole shop. The WG restaurant has all of ten tables and a small sushi bar that can seat perhaps four diners. The decor is spartan but we were not expecting white table cloth service or crystal chandeliers at this price point. We typically order the three roll special for $10.95, and we have never been disappointed. The fish is always supremely fresh and the rolls are always beautifully presented. Two small hiccups on our most recent visit, which I am sure will be addressed over time. The restaurant was extremely cold (so take a sweater) and our waitperson was extremely scattered. The sushi's excellence, however, made forgiving these missteps an easy task. And Vic is a BYO.

I have only ordered take out from here, the sushi is fresh and good, I also ordered their fried rice, imo the rice was kinda hard and really nothing special I was expecting the fried rice to be a lil more exotic? It seems just like the usual chinese take out fried rice to me. I do want to dine in here, and maybe I'll give it a 5 star!

Excellent Thai green curry. They gave the option of having either white or brown rice with the curry but were unfortunately out of the brown. I also enjoyed the soup. Next time I will try the sushi for sure!

I've been visiting Vic for 5 years. Initially located in Center City, I remember how tough it was to get seated at the bar, but I kept driving 45min from the suburbs to have their amazing food. I later followed them to their Spring House restaurant, and was very happy to have them closer. Now, their new store is 5 blocks away from me, in Willow grove!! Now, to the food. Please try their tuna dumpling. A beautiful ball of raw tuna filled with a magic mixture of avocado, crab, mayonnaise and a touch of wonderful crunchiness, among other things. The basic rolls are super cheap, 3 for 10 bucks. Their special rolls are reasonably priced and a work of art. Just look at the pictures. I recently tried their Curry dishes and the Pad Thai. At 11 bucks, it has phenomenal flavors and textures, a must-have. To summarize, Vic is an outstanding joint, affordable, delicious sushi and Thai dishes and an extremely friendly staff! Don't miss it, it might be the best sushi in Philadelphia.

Just had dinner with my family at Vic. The food was delicious. My son and I had the Spicy Mussels as an appetizer and they were tender and moderately spicy. We then had the Tiger Roll, Flacco Roll and the 3-roll special, which is a tremendous bargain. All were excellent. Just as good as the food is the friendly service. My hats off to Vic and my boy Scott. It is truly a family affair as Vic and his relatives prepare and serve the best sushi and Thai in the area. I wish them all the best in this new location!!!!!

GREAT Pad Thai! It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not oily, and very flavorful. I also had a kani salad app which was delicious - very fresh, light, without too much mayo - however they did not include tempura crunchies on top? I wonder if that's just their own spin on it. I've enjoyed it with crunchies everywhere else. The cucumber base was fresh and tasted fantastic. The service was friendly and prompt, food cooked fresh, and pricing is quite affordable for the mound of food received. Clean, nice atmosphere and enjoyable music as well. Will visit again for sure.

I'd give Vic 12 stars if it were an option. One of my favorite places. Fresh sushi, amazing Thai menu, friendly staff. Better than most places in the city (any city).

I've been here twice for lunch. Came once for sushi and once for Thai. Neither time impressed us. The food was fine, but not stellar and there are better restaurants in the area. We also felt like the restaurant had an unpleasant smell. It smells like cleaning fluid. Perhaps something they use to clean the tables? In any case it was off putting.
